Reviewed the design entries in the International Competition for the Design of Dar Al Youm Business Park. Twenty-five entries from regional and international design firms were reviewed, and first three winners were selected.

Great Mosque of Mecca (Al Haram Mosque) is the largest mosque in the world and surrounds Islam's holiest place, the Kaaba, in the city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. A panel of well-known architects and experts were selected to review and evaluate the submitted design proposals for the Closed Competition "The Expansion of Al Haram Mosque". The Review Team assessed and evaluated the 24 design proposals submitted by renown international firms. Each submission includes both design documents as well as an extensive Technical Report. Based on this expansion, the Grand Mosque/Haram will eventually be capable of holding three million people. Some of the international firms that were selected to submitted design proposals include Zaha Hadid, Atkins, Norman Foster & partners, among others.

Participated in the closed design competition of the expansion of the capacity of the Mataf area (circumambulation area) of Al Haram Mosque in Makah. Participation is based on invitation. Chief designer of a team of 5 architects. A whole set of design documents and technical report were submitted for the organizers of the expansion of the Mataf area of Al Haram Mosque competition.

Participated as jury member in the International Review Committee of the second circle of the Prince Sultan Bin Salman Awards for Urban Heritage that run by Al Turath Foundation. Al Turath (Heritage in Arabic) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to preserve and promote national heritage in Saudi Arabia. As a member of the Award Review Committee, I have assessed and evaluated several entries in the four fields of the Award: Urban Heritage Project, Conservation of Urban Heritage, Urban Heritage Researches, and Lifetime Achievement Award.

Developed a schematic Master Plan and set of design guidelines for upgrading and redevelopment of KFUPM Beach, a full service beach on the Arabian Gulf that serves the families of KFUPM faculty members. Design has been implemented.

Produced a full architectural program and space requirements for KFUPM Youth Center. The Center is a social and educational center intended primarily for use by teenagers (ages 16-18 years) as well as middle school youth (ages 11 -15 years) of the families of KFUPM faculty members living at KFUPM campus. The facility aims to provide safe, supervised, educational, accountable and age-appropriate activities for youth and teens.

Participated in preparing Master Plan for the land surrounding the campus of Jordan University of Science & Technology, with a depth of 1 km from the periphery of the campus (app. 7.0 km x 1.0 km). The proposed Master Plan provides land use, infrastructure and transportation plans as well as basic urban design guidelines to guide the future development of the area.
